In his address, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama spoke highly of CGGC's contribution to the construction of the Sigatoka section, and said that the opening of the Sigatoka section would greatly improve local transport conditions, bring local communities close to the outside world, and make it more convenient for the entry and exit of residents and production and household materials, and the highway will play a key role in the social and economic growth and people's livelihood improvement in West Fiji.

The rural highway project is located on the Viti Levu Island, Fiji, and in the Sigatoka section, the 15km gravel or earth pavement will be upgraded into 10.3m-wide asphalt pavement. After construction, the traffic speed on the highway will be increased to 60km/h, which will greatly enhance the transport conditions for local residents and materials.
