On 30 August, 2015, CGGC released a major contract announcement, saying that CGGC International had received a letter of acceptance on August 27 from the Premier Mansion of Cameroon for the Iron Mine Supporting Railway and Port Project in Mbalam-Nabeba, Cameroon. The total contract value of the project is USD 3,498 million, equivalent to RMB 22,424 million.

It is learnt that the Project includes a railway stretching 510 km and a terminal port for mineral export in Lolabe of south Kribi in order to support the exploitation of Mbalam Iron Mine in Cameroon and Nabeba Iron Mine in Congo (the Republic of Congo). The Project, with an average annual capacity of 35 million tons of iron ores, is among the majority of 2015 National Economic Planning of Cameroon. The long-term reserves out of the two mines and neighboring Belinga Iron Mine, collectively known as “The Iron Triangle”, are expected to exceed 10 billion tons. After completion, the Project will serve as a powerful driving force for the economic development of Cameroon.
