Ren Jianguo pays a visit to Cuba

During his visit to Havana, the capital city of Cuba from August 29 to 31, 2015, Ren Jianguo, Vice President of CGGC, met Goberto Aenoir, Asian Chief of Ministry of Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), and Zhang Tuo, Ambassador of China in Cuba respectively.

In the meetings, Mr. Ren introduced the development process, business scope, strength of investment and financing of CGGC as well as the market development and management of ongoing projects in South America and Caribbean Region, and he elaborated the latest progress of such representative projects in the region as the project of President Nestor Kirchner and Governor Jorge Cepernic Hydropower Station across the Santa Cruz River in Argentina. According to him, Cuba is an important Caribbean country and a significant market development center of CGGC in the Region. With the improvement of international political climate and the advancement of domestic economic reform, Cuba is embraced with more historical development opportunities. CGGC is willing to give full play to its excellent strength in global infrastructure development and help the social and economic development and people's livelihood.

The Chief and Ambassador Zhang extended warm welcome to Mr. Ren, expressed appreciation for the powerful technological capability and investment and financing strength of CGGC, and highly commended the international development of CGGC particularly in South America and Caribbean Region. The Chief explicated the investment and financing policies and relevant laws in Cuba, and said that the Cuban Government welcomed CGGC's entry and looked forward to its field survey and involvement in the investment, financing and development of infrastructure to benefit Cuban people. Ambassador Zhang said that as Cuba gradually opened up to the world, China and Cuba were building up the economic and trade ties and anticipated broader cooperation space in infrastructure development. The Embassy would provide full support for CGGC's deepened and long-term development in Cuba, and expects CGGC could seize the opportunities and make contribution to the time-honored friendship between the two countries.
