Overseas Business Connection Meeting of International Investment Alliance for Renewable Energy Successfully Held Helping Enterprises Practice the “Going Global” Strategy

On April 19, the Second Overseas Business Connection Meeting of the First Meeting of the International Investment Alliance for Renewable Energy was successfully held in Xi’an, the starting point of the Silk Road. This is the second overseas business connection meeting organized by the Alliance since its establishment in June last year. With the environments for renewable energy development of regional markets throughout the world as its focus, the meeting is a platform to comprehensively discuss such topics as overseas investment of renewable energy and development of global renewable energy markets, with the purpose of promoting the internal coordination among alliance members, accelerating the incubation and landing of alliance projects, and helping the renewable energy enterprises in China to “go global”.

Opening Ceremony

This meeting is undertaken by Longi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a member of the Alliance, which is proactively sharing advanced technologies and products with other members to accelerate the international development of the Alliance. Presided over by Wang Jin, Director of International Energy Research Institute, International Cooperation Center of NDRC and Vice Chairman of the Alliance, the meeting also won great support from SINOSURE, ICBC, CHINA-EURASIAN and other consultation institutions of the Alliance. Those consultation institutions shared their opinions on topics encountered in practical operation of overseas renewable energy projects such as insurance type selection, investment and financing scheme design, and regional investment market research and judgment, and answered problems about projects raised by alliance members.

The successful cooperation within the alliance members on 50MW Photo-thermal Project in Greece and 100MW Photovoltaic Project in Bahrain has greatly enhanced the mutual trust among the alliance members. To further strengthen the close cooperation among alliance members and the effective connection of businesses, over 100 renewable energy investment and construction markets throughout the world were divided into four major regional markets of Asia, Africa, America & Oceania and Central and Eastern Europe. In the meantime, SINOSURE, ICBC, CHINA-EURASIAN and other alliance members were organized to directly help alliance members analyze such issues as strategies for development of regional market, breakthrough of bottlenecks in specific projects, etc., thus providing these enterprises with useful solutions.

Chen Xiangdong Makes a Speech

Chen Xiangdong, Secretary-General of the Alliance and Deputy General Manager of CGGC, made a speech at the meeting, and highly recognized the achievements made by the Alliance in the past year. He also put forward expectations for the cooperation among the alliance members, and advocated them enhancing the front-end connection, technical connection and mutual-trust construction and establishing closer strategic partnership for win-win benefits. He noted that such a close partnership among alliance members is not only conductive to mutual benefit of these members and overall improvement of the Alliance’s businesses, but also has important reference significance for China’s renewable energy industry to “go global”.

As one of the sponsors, CGGC International assigned great number of elites to attend the meeting, involving such disciplines as investment, development of EPC businesses in all regional markets, as well as business, technology and other segments of the renewable energy sector. Principals of the marketing departments of CGGC International also served as the host of four regional parallel sessions to interact with financial and insurance institutions, alliance members on cooperation in renewable energy projects.
