On October 18 local time, the Qatar Water Supply E-Bid Project, undertaken by CGGC, obtained handover certificates for the two water reservoirs, which kicked off the overall handover of the Project.

Reservoir No.1

As one of the important components of the national strategic reservoir project in Qatar, the E-Bid Project is the largest single reservoir in operation certified by the Guinness World Records. It undertakes the task of realizing the full penetration of the country's pipeline network and supplying water to the northern area of Umm Said and the southern area of AI Wakrah, a major industrial town in the country.

Reservoir No. 2

The formal issuance of the handover certificates for the two reservoirs greatly boosted the morale of the project staff and created a good start for the fourth quarter of the Project and the annual goal. In the next step, the Project Department will continue to overcome such unfavorable factors as the COVID-19 pandemic and the tight schedule, meet the annual production and operation targets, and work together to accelerate the completion and handover of the Project.

With the rapid economic development, Qatar's demand for fresh water for industry, production and life is increasing day by day, and the original water supply system can no longer meet the development demand. To this end, Qatar launched the strategic large scale reservoir construction project. The project, which includes sea water desalination, storage and transmission, will meet the water consumption of the whole country for seven days when completed, and will also supply water for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. CGGC is the only Chinese enterprise participating in the construction, and the E-Bid Water Supply Project undertaken by it has a capacity of 500,000 cubic meters per reservoir.
